WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Directors serve a pivotal role in the advancement of the mission and vision of SOZO Missions and have a heart for not only youth ministry, but youth ministry in the inner-city. Directors with SOZO Missions are passionate and exemplary leaders on a spiritual and organizational level, with the ability to work with and through other people. They are strategists who lead and inspire with joyful camaraderie, courageous faithfulness, enduring humility, and most importantly, Christ being their center. They are a team and ministry developer who recruits, inspires, and equips staff and volunteers to effectively serve in the mission. A Director must build and embrace a team that embodies SOZO’s Core Values & Qualities: Passionate, Dynamic, Bold, Empowering, and Worth.
THE PRIMARY TASKS YOU’LL PERFORM
The SOZO Missions Program Director is responsible for the following tasks:
Complete visionary oversight and focused development of all areas of SOZO Youth, SOZO Kidz, and SOZO Sports in submission to the leadership of the SOZO Missions Executive Director.
Serve, equip, develop, and mentor Student Ministry Team Leads to achieve success within their roles.
Assist Team Leads in recruiting, developing and leading fully staffed adult volunteer teams for SOZO Youth, SOZO Kidz, and SOZO Sports.
Serve as primary visionary for excellent weekly club times that are engaging, fun, and carry spiritual depth for students; along with developing a growth strategy for SOZO Sports that includes development of current leagues and activities and launching of new sports and recreational activities.
Serve as the primary fundraising advocate for SOZO Youth, SOZO Kidz, and SOZO Sports by actively recruiting and building meaningful relationships with new and existing donors while also developing and executing multiple strategies to achieve a budget to match growth needs of the ministry.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO APPLY
Bachelor's degree in related field is a plus; however, not required.
Minimum 2 years of related/ministry experience required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
A demonstrated ability to build and nurture ministry staff & volunteer teams toward accomplishing long term goals.
First Aid/CPR Certified (if not held, will be required to obtain certification within first 3 months of employment).
A deep & driving desire to see young people find hope and a future in Jesus.
A Sincere Christian Whose Lifestyle and Character Demonstrate Obedience to and Reliance on God and the Holy Bible.
Committed & Active Member of a Local, Christian Faith-Based Church.
Possesses strong Biblical knowledge with the ability to apply biblical principles to ministry oversight & instruction.
Ability to, or a Willingness to Learn to, Navigate Multicultural and Socially Diverse Environments and Display an Understanding of the World of At-Risk, Urban Youth.
Healthy lifestyle with personal interest in recreational organized sports.
Must be able to recruit and train team leads/volunteers and develop and maintain partnerships with like-minded organizations and churches.
WHAT WE’RE OFFERING YOU
The SOZO Missions Program Director is compensated as a full time salaried employee with the following compensation:
$30,000 - $35,000 annually based on experience.
Paid on the 15th and final day of each month.
